Today's Advent reading is through Luke 9. Jesus ministry is gaining more momentum. He feeds 5000+ people and heals many many people. In verse 51 Jesus sets his face toward Jerusalem and all that lay there for him to endure. I love the image in this that he was steadfast in his plan to bring redemption.
As I ponder Advent though what stands out to me is Jesus question early in the chapter, "who do you say I am?" what Jesus cares about is not what we know of what others are saying, what is most important is what do we believe about Jesus!
In a world of Advent Jesus name and story are told or Sung more than any time each year. In this noise of culture Jesus asks us right here today, what do you believe? The other side of this is how the do you live knowing what you believe?
So this advent all Jesus asks is what do you believe? So live it out, live out in this opportunity of advent the belief that Jesus is the light of the world!!
