Today brings chapter 8 of Luke. Again this is a chapter jam packed and the intensity increases again.
First we get the parable of the sower, this well known parable tells us of the seed being scattered and the different places it falls and how well it grows there. Advent and Christmas are times when seed is scattered! It is one of the few times in the year that Jesus name is proclaimed in the media. Yes there is over commercialisation but at least the message is there! Things could be a lot worse if the world stopped celebrating Christmas, Christians would need to step up a lot to fill in the sowing of seed that is done over the Christmas season.
Regardless we need to do better the rest of the year in watering the seed!
The chapter continues with the story of the women who touches Jesus in the hustle and bustle of the crowds. You see no matter how busy and crazy the season of Advent is, Jesus is there! Who knows it may be one touch for one person that brings release from burden and pain. In the crazy time of the year Jesus can still bring healing from just a touch!
The question then is are we helping the seed scatter or complaining about the seed that is being scattered as we do our thing? Are we helping people touch Jesus or pushing them away with what ever it is that has drawn the focus!
