"Actions speak louder than words" we have all heard this saying, but it is one saying that rings true in life as well as in metaphor. Luke 7 brings us to just this truth.
In this passage Luke writes of some miracles, a question from John and the tears of a repentant prostitute.
In all of these sections the truth is that "actions speak louder than words"!
To the centurion leader his actions spoke loud, greater faith had not been seen in Israel!
To the widow burying her son, actions are what Jesus gives her!
To the question from John, look at my actions and judge!
To Simon, hey your actions don't back up your words, whilst these actions tell the whole story of forgiveness, great forgiveness!
This is backed up by the words of Luke 7:35 "But wisdom is shown to be right by the lives of those who follow it. ”
So this advent it is time that those who, know tue deepness of forgiveness in Christ, show it in our actions. Let's not be put to shame by the world because their actions say more than ours. Let's be like Christ who not only said he loves us but stepped out of heaven to prove it!
