Today we cover a couple o chapters of alike to keep up with the Advent journey.
The focus of chapter 10 is the section on Mary and Martha. Here we have a great picture of many people's Christmas. So busy with cooking, cleaning and decorations that they fail to take time to sit at the feet of the saviour. If christmas is so busy that time to reflect on what it is all about is not available to you, I would say that you are doing too much! Advent is about Jesus and the coming of the light of the world if it lakes time for him then change it!
Chapter 11 what stands out is that image of the White washed tombs! Just as our houses are decorated with lights and tinsel they can be I'll of pain and death.
The customary christmas tree can be another way to say this. It is made to look alive but is either fake and plastic or cut off from life and dead. May be this is what our lives can be like.
May be Jesus is saying to us his Advent come sit with me let's reconnect you to life. Let's get real and alive let's make the insides as alive as the outsides.
May you inside be as filled with light as the outside of a house decorated with Christmas lights. May the light bring with it the joy and celebration that comes with the lights on out homes and trees!
