Logitech Harmony One - First Impressions

Ready for the un-boxing
Well the Harmony One has arrived from Logitech just as they promised!  First thoughts were that the device looks great in the packaging!  It is not apple minimalistic but as far as packaging goes it is well presented and does the job of showing off the device and most importantly protecting it in transit.
Also to note is that you do not have to have a masters in engineering to be able to open and extract the device from the packaging.  Oh if this were to be the same with the kids toys that will inevitably come our from under the tree in a couple of weeks.

First feel of the device out of the box is that is feels solid, most remotes are flimsy and feel like they may break in your hand, the Harmony One feels very different.

It is glossy on the front with a grippy matt back, we will see how this wears but it feels good to hold.

The contents of the box is: Harmony One remote, Charging Dock, Power cable, battery, USB cable, Cleaning Cloth, CD  and Documentation pack.

The addition of the cradle is a good one, no more searching for batteries to replace one of the remotes just to watch a movie.
The cradle aslo has a good cable management groove in the bottom to be able to direct the cable to where you require it to go,  this is important when you are placing the device in a prominent position in your living room for easy access.

So it is out of the box and is on the cradle charging, all I have to do it leave it alone so that it can complete charging. (not that easy to do for me!)

Once it is all charged up we will go through the setup of the device.

We look forward to a lounge that is free of the clutter of remotes!

It does stack up to a pile of rubbish.
