I watched the Jim Stynes documentary "Every Heart beats True" last night whilst he is obviously a passionate and committed person who will go to amazing lengths to attempt to get healing for his cancer and to build and encourage people. I was amazed that it was not highlighted that his cancer is as pronounced and aggressive as it is because he did not seek medical treatment for the "pronounced and obvious lump" when it was first found.
So is the tragedy that he was a work-a-holic and could not find time to see a Dr. or is the tragedy the cancer? I would have thought that if preparing a documentary to help others fight the journey of cancer this would have been a good thing to highlight.
Yes it is awful, yes it is a journey that no one would want to go through or watch a friend or family member go through. But why is it that we don't see the cost of giving up working to be seen by a Dr and be sure we are healthy and can be there for our family to high a price to pay. The cost for not doing it is far higher!
