Can we buy our Kids favour?

I have to say when I read this in the Sun online today I was quite perplexed!

"A stronger economy and time-poor parents are fuelling the trend for extravagant parties."

Have we come so far that we now have to spend a fortune on our kids because our time is so valuable we can't afford to spend time with them!  What have we become that no longer is some fun party food and a pass the parcel a valid time for our kids to feel we have celebrated their birthday!  do we seriously think that $15,000 for a 10 year old's birthday will actually help to raise a child who has an accurate sense of what is of true value.

"There's a lot of money around, a lot of people are both working now and
the time they have to spend with children is not what it was 30, 40 or
50 years ago," Mr Keebaugh said so the answer is ok to just buy them off because we can't spend time with them!

Check out some some of these prices!

PARTY PERFECT: Stylish children's parties. Basic
prices start at $300-$400 for eight children plus $25-$30 for each child
thereafter. 156 Martin St, Brighton. www.partyperfect. com.au.

CHILL
ON ICE LOUNGE:
Deluxe party with fruit mocktails, party host,
ice cream cake and more. Cost: $40 per head. 296 Russell St, Melbourne
www.chillon.com.au.

Come on we have to get back to values that actually might see our kids grow up caring about people and not just themselves!
