The point of buildings

I took this photo recently, it is interesting just how building churches has changed.  You don't see many churches today getting built looking like this. 

Now this may be a good thing, but it could be seen to show a great change in the focus of churches. 

This image points clearly to God, where many buildings today are flat and more designed to be comfortable to people, comfy seats, comfy amenities, pleasurable audio and visual displays. 

Does this show that many churches are more concerned with what people think and feel than they are with what God thinks and feels? 

I don't think that we can build buildings that will change the culture of the church, but I do hope that we can change culture and then maybe we might change some of our buildings to reflect this change and show our deep love for God, our passion for him and His rule in our lives and the lives of the church community!
