Part of something bigger than me

Scripture Reading 16:1-24

The churches in the province of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Priscilla greet you warmly in the Lord, and so does the church that meets at their house. All the brothers here send you greetings.

Observation

Well here we are at the end of First Corinthians, and Paul offers greetings from the other churches and some notes as to who will be visiting and requests for care of them. I love these small insights into the heart of Paul and the early church. Here we see that they care for each other, they understand that their solidarity is a great strength. We to have this awesome network of faith, the churches in our city are strong and take great care for each other. We participate in other networks around the world. But beyond this we as Christians have a great fellowship with others who know Christ. We are all part of the same body, the body of Christ. There is room for our differences in the kingdom of God because there is room for our differences in God himself.

Application

Take the time to encourage and bless those you know who are also members of the kingdom of God in other churches.

Prayer

God of all may we have the grace to accept the differences and strength to follow our understanding of your gospel. May we, the kingdom of God on this earth show the world we are your disciples by the way we love one another.
