Scripture Reading 6:1-11
Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? But instead, one brother goes to law against another—and this in front of unbelievers!
Observation
Paul moves on to another issue, although it is related to the list of sin that was in the previous section of the book. Paul challenges the believers to stay out of the court system. His contention is why do they trust the wisdom of the world and not submitting themselves to the wisdom and authority of a believer? Paul is not saying that there will never be disputes, but he is saying in the dispute there should be grace, love, and a solution. Jesus said that the world would know we are his disciples by the way we love each other, dragging our brother or sister in Christ through the court system breaks this witness.
Application
What issues do you have with other Christians that you have not resolved? Takes these issues to a mature and wise believer and deal with them! Be prepared to not win in the worlds view, but to win in God̢۪s eyes.
Prayer
God of all love and grace, give me the ability to love, trust and be gracious in all that I do in every sphere of my life. May my business dealings be right in your eyes, may my interactions with all people be right before you?
