Richness in Every Way

Scripture Reading 1 Corinthians 1:1-17

“For in him you have been enriched in every way—in all your speaking and in all your knowledge— because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you.” Vs 4-5

Observation

The book of first Corinthians starts off with Jesus! Jesus is up front and foremost in the mind of Paul as he writes! Often in life when we are trying to deal with issues we use many different processes, logic, law, intuition, what Paul says is use Jesus! The Church in Corinth has some issues they were dealing with; Paul writes the letter to help them to deal with these issues. He starts off by emphasising that in Christ they have all that they need, that Christ has ‘enriched them in every way’. That they don’t have to follow people; not Paul, not Apollos, not Cephas, but they must follow Christ. The same is true for us, in Christ we have all that is required to live in him. We must follow him, not this or that person but Jesus!

How do you deal with issues? What is one issue that you can take to Christ and apply his values to?

Prayer

Father, help me today to trust in you for wisdom and guidance, help me to live in the deep understanding that in You we have been deeply enriched in every way, because you live wholly in us.
