Heritage

Scripture Reading 10:1-22

Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did.

Observation

Not every family history is a good one, it seems some where we all have a skeleton in the closet of our past. One of the great parts of belonging to the kingdom of God is that no matter what our personal heritage we gain a whole new one when we come to Christ. It is not all good either, there are some issues. In this passage Paul reminds the church in Corinth of some of the past that they are now a part of. There is much they could learn about life from the history of God̢۪s people ad for us too there is much we can learn from this adopted heritage.

One of the great lessons that Pal highlights is the truth that just because we did follow for does not mean we can do what we like. The Israelites hid been through the red sea survived on manna one quail yet they disappointed God.

We have the great heritage to live or lives knowing the lessons of the past.

Application

What is your heart set on? Are you resting on the actions of your past? What Lessons do you need to apply from your new adopted heritage?

Prayer

Creator God thank you for the great heritage of your history that I am now a part of. Help me to see the truths that can be learnt and help me to apply these lessons to my life.
