Scripture Reading 14:1-25
Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults.
Observation
It is easy to just let life pass you by, time rushes so fast (faster each year I am sure) it does not seem like you have time to stop and pause and think. However, I am sure that we in this day and age need to take time to stop and think. I hope that you are using the space on each page to journal your thoughts. In the olden days if you travelled you did it by foot or slow horse, you had time to ponder life and eternity. Today we race in card or motorbikes with radio, phone and more and more DVDs to occupy our minds. We donĂ¢€™t think. So it would be easy for our thinking to stay child like.
Paul here urges us to think like adults. That is to think, wrestle, debate, and way up and evaluate. We need to do this about God, life, and eternity. We need to not just believe like a child we need to understand all we can about God. We will never understand it all, but that means there is always more to understand.
Application
Pick a topic about God, (His Grace, His Love, His power) and allow your adult mind to wrestle and think about it. You will be amazed that when you come to God and ask questions of him, he reveals himself more and more.
Get together with your mentor or friend to discuss the things of God.
Prayer
God of all wisdom, may I find more of you as I think and wrestle with the things of your kingdom.
