Scripture Reading 1:18-31
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate." Vs 18-19
Observation
God does not always use man’s logic to achieve his plans. The problem is that we want him to! If it made sense to us then it would be easier to follow him. I am not sure that the outcome would always be a good one, I am sure I would make a big mess of it is my life were left to my ability and judgments. Much of God’s ways are as Paul states are foolishness, those outside of his love and Grace just don’t get it. Those who know Christ as their lord and saviour the same truth is power. We don’t have to understand it (I often don’t) but we do have to follow it and that is where the power comes from. The power comes from faith, from trusting Christ, regardless of our own understanding now that is true faith!
Application
What is it that you struggle to understand? If you did completely understand what you now do not, would it change God? Take what you do not understand and give it to God, lean on his wisdom and not our own understanding.
