Introduction
These devotionals are written to help you as you read through the books of 1 Corinthians and Philemon. It is my prayer that they help you apply the words of scripture to your life that you may become more like the person that Christ wants you to be.
I pray that as you read and meditate on the words of Paul in these books it will refresh your heart, mind and spirit.
The church in Corinth was in a bad way, they lived in the middle of a corrupt and sinful society. The church has adopted some of these sinful ways into their community of believes. Paul writes to address these issues and call the believes in Corinth to live holy lives full of the Holy Spirit. May this book call you to the same holy life of power and love!
Philemon was called to love and accept Onesimus as his brother. Onesimus had repented and was now living as a disciple of Christ, may his journey bless and encourage yours.
It is true that no one can go back and make a brand new start the church in Corinth could not do this, Onesimus could not do this, once you have started you canĂ¢€™t do it over again, however, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending. The Church in Corinth was given this opportunity in the letters from Paul, Onesimus set his ending anew, and we too are presented with the chance to set our course right and create a new ending.
Be refreshed in your faith,
Andrew.
