Credit card debt soars $4 billion in a year | Herald Sun

This is not sustainable!  where are we headed as a society?

THE total value of monthly repayments on credit and charge cards has risen above $18 billion for the first time, new figures show.

Figures released today by the Reserve Bank of Australia showed the total outstanding balance on credit and charge cards rose to $41.14 billion in August, an increase of $4.1 billion compared to the same time last year.
Monthly repayments have risen to $18.13 billion, an increase of $1.4 billion compared to the same time last year.
