This season Cricket Australia, the swankier, 21st century version of the ACB, is using the uniform in money-making and patriotic schemes - it wants to ensure the local crowd is not out-cheered or out-numbered by England fans during the Ashes. As part of CA's "Go Off in Green and Gold" campaign, which was also launched today, every person who buys a replica shirt will have the opportunity to stand in one of three huge photos with the Australian team in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
But if Cricket Australia want to increase patriotism and have the grounds full of green for the ashes, they should sell the shirts for a price that is affordable! I can not justify $60 for a shirt! Drop that by half and then I would buy one! I hope we flog the poms 5 nill but I can't go $60 for a shirt to wear when cheering! But then the new ones don't have a collare so I would not be able to wear them in the MCC members reserve any way, but I would still get one if they were more reasonably priced.
