Preaching God's Message

It is easy to preach a message but hard to preach God's messages.  I wonder if this is because we don't preach what God has already said.  We use the bible but too often miss His message in it.  I read this post recently "Why theocentric preaching isn't as boring as it sounds"

"The story of David and Goliath isn't about how to handle the giants in our lives. It's the story of a man who did the job God asked Israel to do hundreds of years earlier, which they'd neglected: to drive giants out of the land God had given them. It's about doing what God asked, even when what he asks seems impossible. Still relevant, and much closer to the purpose of the text."

it is a good post that pinpoints what I think is the cause for so much weak preaching.  We are so self centered that our preaching becomes more about our lives than about the kingdom, more about me than God.
