I have hear it said that you need to be careful what you pray for because God may grant it. That said I read this post recently.
On Memorial Day weekend, Clara Jean brown of Baldwin County, Alabama, prayed to the lord to protect her family from a storm in the area. Seemed like a good idea, until she said "Amen" and was struck by a bolt of lightning. From Associated Press: The 65-year-old Brown said she is blessed to be alive.
Firefighters said its likely she was hit by a bolt of lightning that apparently struck outside and traveled into the house...A family member said he will no longer assume it is safe to be indoors during a lightning strike.
Now it just may be hitting Mrs Brown was the only way God could protect her family. If we ask God to be God then we need to let him have total control of all, not just isolate us and our prayer from the rest fo the universe, we must remain as part of it and remember every action has an equal and opposite reaction. So go ahead and pray, but be careful what you pray for Mrs Brown's family from all reports are safe, so prayer answered.
