I have an interesting question. Who is paying Mark Waugh's salary? In his playing days he was media shy (happy to talk to the bookie but media shy) since then he has remained well out of the spot light. So why is it just recently that he has decided that his opinion is now significant and should be shared? I have heard him quoted on the radio, internet and news papers. The interesting thing is that he has only negative things to say! So Mark own up with why you suddenly have an opinion you want published or stop talking to the media.
On a similar topic why is it that past champions seems to be so fixed with making outlandish statments to the media? They are always looking for the sensational sound grab or quote that will get their names in the news. When they were stars they disliked the attention and constant comments then when they retire they join in the rest of the media making comments that just a while ago they disliked!Â
Waugh was also involved in the Foxtel broadcasts of the cricket in South Africe (at least, the final one-day match - that's all I've caught thus far).
