Ponting leads Aussies to world record

After slumping to 2 nil down in the series and a low of 94 all out blew out all four wheels of the south African cart!  Ponting lead from the front with 164 leading the Aussies to 434!  What an amazing result!

In the scheme of things this result is up there with the Aussie swim teams world records in the pool.  400 has been the holy grail of the One Day International Cricket community.  It was going to happen with the small boundaries and the new bats.  However, most people believed that it would happen agains Bangladesh or one ofthe other minnows going around.  So for Australia to thrash South Africa all over the park to reach this world record was truely a feather in their cap.  The reached it and against a quality team!

And how good it is to read about Smith suffering the humiliation of 434.  Go Aussies! For a full description of the thumping Click Here.   If you are interested in the list of highest scores before the magic of 400 was smashed into oblivion Click Here

PS.  Would have been nice if we could have seen it!  We all can't have Foxtel!  One of the best innings of the history of Cricket and we had to read it on the net!
