The news that Ian Thorpe could not make the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne is terrible for Ian! However. Ian Thorpe was not the only star of the Aussie team! we saw at the trial the swim team is full of stars (most are in the female side of the comp) if ticket sales started today they would sellout several times over!
The other Plus out of Ian's withdrawal is that it will open up oportsnities for others to shine. It will be great to see Craig Stevens step up and to see others step into the relay teams. ofcourse Ian's program was only a few races so the excitment of the program stays the same!
