It is interesting how when how some one can build a world wide business on the bassis of ethical issues and then turn around and sell out for the big $.
The Bodyshop made its name championing ethical consumerism and opposing animal testing, and went on to make a fortune for its founder, Anita Roddick, and her husband, Gordon. However Ms Roddick had sold her company to French cosmetics giant L'Oreal for a spangling $1.5 billion — netting her a $313 million personal share!
You have to wonder how long the Body Shop would maintain its ideals.
So what is it ethical issues matter until you can set yourself up for life with a lazy $300 million?
