Are we just whale vomit?

I came across this article Click Here via Phil Baker's Blog about whale vomit. It is absolutely fascinating!  "Leon Wright and his wife took home a 14.75kg lump of ambergris, found in the innards of sperm whales and used in perfumes after it has been vomited up. Sought after because of its rarity, ambergris can float on the ocean for years before washing ashore. Worth up to $20 a gram, Mr Wright's find on a South Australian beach could net his family US$295,000 (£165,300)."

I would encourage you to read the full article! It made me think are we just like this?  In the large scheme of things we are just smelly lumps of no value!  But because of the grace of Christ we are a beautiful perfume!

There are so many thoughts that come out of this I am sure it will be used in conversations and sermons for many years to come.  Life is not like a box of chocolates it is like whale vomit!  You are nothing but the years of sun, wind, rain, salt water, waves and every thing else that makes up life shapes us and makes us of value.

So next time you see a lump of muck on the beach look closer it could pay off your mortgage!  Or at least remind you that you are a sweet smelling perfume to God!
